How a Thermo Fisher Scientific analyzer connects

TCP/HL7

The analyzer sends HL7 result messages over the lab network to SamLab’s listener. Set the SamLab PC’s IP and port in the analyzer’s LIS settings.

ASTM

ASTM E1381/E1394 records arrive over a serial cable or a TCP socket. SamLab acknowledges each frame and posts the results it carries.

Serial

A direct RS-232 link. Match baud rate, parity and stop bits to the analyzer; SamLab reads the stream and parses the result records.

The link is one-way: the instrument sends results and SamLab receives them. SamLab does not send the worklist back to the analyzer, so nothing here can change what the machine runs.

Is my Thermo Fisher Scientific model supported?
If it appears in the list above, yes — the profile ships in the app. If it does not, tell us the exact model; most additions are a new profile rather than new code.
Which cable or network setting do I need?
It depends on the model: TCP/HL7 or ASTM or Serial. The analyzer’s own LIS or “host” settings screen names the protocol it uses, and the matching section above says what SamLab expects.
Does it need internet?
No. The analyzer and the SamLab PC talk over a cable or the local network, so results keep arriving through an internet outage.
