The detail
Haematology analyzers are the highest-volume link in most labs and the one where manual entry costs the most time and the most transcription errors. A CBC posts around twenty parameters per sample; typing those by hand is where differentials get transposed. SamLab reads them off the instrument directly. Where the analyzer also emits histograms, those can be carried onto the report.
How it is set up

Connect the analyzer to the lab PC over its existing port — RS-232 serial or TCP/IP, whichever the instrument already uses.

Install the parser bundle for your exact make and model. It carries the protocol, the transport and the code map that ties the machine’s test codes to your SamLab catalogue.

Questions labs ask
Will the differential come across as well as the counts?+
Yes, if the instrument sends it. 3-part and 5-part differentials are both handled; which parameters arrive is determined by the machine and its code map, not by SamLab.
Can histograms print on the report?+
Where the analyzer emits them, they can be bound to the run and printed. Binding is by run number rather than barcode alone, because a repeat run on the same sample must not overwrite the first.
What about a repeat or a dilution?+
Re-runs are versioned rather than silently overwritten. The result history keeps what was there before, and a verified result locks.
