ISE electrolyte analyzers are usually the simplest interface in the lab: a small, fixed parameter set (Na, K, Cl, sometimes iCa and Li) over serial. They are also the instrument most likely to be an older unit with a fussy serial configuration, which is where the raw packet log earns its keep.
How it is set up

Connect the analyzer to the lab PC over its existing port — RS-232 serial or TCP/IP, whichever the instrument already uses.
