Live ABDM delivery switches on once your lab completes ABDM onboarding with SamLab; until then it runs only against the ABDM sandbox. There is no general FHIR API or FHIR export for other systems; HL7 v2 is the interface SamLab offers for that.

The detail

FHIR is the modern REST/JSON successor to HL7 v2, and ABDM uses it for health-record exchange. SamLab’s FHIR is exactly that ABDM report bundle: it is built from the verified report rather than typed separately, and it is not a FHIR server — no outside system can query SamLab over FHIR. A vendor answering “yes, we support FHIR” without naming the profile has not understood the question, which is why this page says precisely what is built.

    Verify the report as normal. SamLab builds the FHIR R4 bundle from it, so nothing is typed twice.

    Complete ABDM onboarding with SamLab to switch on live delivery to the patient’s health record; until then the bundle goes only to the ABDM sandbox.

Does SamLab support FHIR?+

Is SamLab FHIR or ABDM certified?+

SamLab claims no certification. It builds the bundle ABDM specifies from the verified report; ABDM onboarding is a step your lab completes with SamLab before live delivery is switched on.

Can another system pull results from SamLab over FHIR?+

No. SamLab is not a FHIR server and exposes no FHIR API. For exchange with a hospital information system or a referral lab, HL7 v2 on the Enterprise plan is the interface SamLab offers; for instruments, ASTM.
