The detail
Tube labels are printed on a direct-thermal label printer — the same class of device used for shipping labels. The constraint that catches labs out is physical: a tube label has very little height to work with, and every line of text competes for it. A label that wraps is a label that cannot be read on a spinning tube.

Which label printer works?+
Any that installs as a normal Windows printer, which covers the mainstream direct-thermal brands. There is no driver written for one specific model.
Do I need special labels?+
Direct-thermal label stock sized to your tubes. No ribbon is needed for direct thermal.
Can the label carry the patient name in another script?+
It can, but budget the space — a non-Latin line costs noticeably more height than a Latin one, and the tube label has very little to spare.
